Concrete House by Studio Gil

As much as Barbie loves being spontaneous she doesn't mind making concrete plans once in a while but understands that sometimes no matter how much people really want to, they can't be spontaneous. Besides when you can't make concrete plans you can have a dreamhouse...

Concrete House By Studio Gil

“Situated in Mile End, East London, Studio Gil were commissioned by the owner of a Victorian terraced house within a conservation area to look at options for creating an extension towards the rear of the property and improved remodelling of the existing interior spaces. The proposed solution consisted of creating an ‘infill’ rear extension with connecting views right throughout the house, whilst also creating a physical connection with the existing rear garden.”

Would you enjoy living concretely in this dreamhouse?

Hawk House by Alex Wyndham

Ms M or Barbie? Ah... It's a story but Barbie is a lovely nickname and often I resent it but it works best with Dreamhouses... So time to go with it! You can decide where to hide away who you are or you can simply embrace it with a sustainably chic retreat that does all the hiding for you...

Hawk House by Alex Wyndham

Nestled next to a redwood canyon and overlooking a panoramic view of the ocean, the hawk house is a minimalist retreat cabana furnished only with a bed, a chair and a desk. The roof is planted with native wildflowers and the siding is made from reclaimed redwood bark. Three glass doors fold to one side, opening the front of the building to the panoramic ocean view. Walls become wings as the sides open to increase ventilation and views. You can watch whales swim by while lying in bed.

Heating/Cooling: The hawk house is heated by the sun and cooled by the prevailing breeze. Double pane windows and five inches of soil on the roof moderate the indoor temperature.

House in Byoubugaura by Takeshi Hosaka Architects

Ms. M officially prefers to be herself instead of Barbie. With all the chaos of pretending people she simply wants to be herself and misses architecture & design tremendously. While numerous stories are completed & ready to share its best to focus on design. Yes lately every day has completed a new story or photograph. The D women aren't anything new since they've been around since July, but they will come soon.

Let's attempt to focus on going with the flow and being mindful of others privacy. It's a thing to be modest in this internet age. Again Ms. M defers to her favorite guys to decide what they choose to share or invite others to know about their lives. She is the same. With that in mind.... Here's a lovely house that is built with flow and privacy in mind.

House in Byoubugaura by Takeshi Hosaka Architects

Designed by the firm Takeshi Hosaka Architects in Yokohama. This home is characterized by extending, curved floors paired with complementary materials: polished concrete, timber, steel and glass. Utilizing the small space the house is built vertically. The area in which it is located has rolling hills, which are mirrored in its curved flooring. The lie ceilings allow the three-story house to give the appearance of a two-story building. Amidst the levels a unique spiral staircase connects them.

Would you enjoy the slope & flow of this private home?

S-House by Yuusuke Karasawa Architects

Barbie loves catching up with her favorite Ken when he returns from living life because he always has a great tale to tell! While Barbie is often very busy like her favorite Dolls and Kens, she admits it's always fun to catch up. Even if there's been a misunderstanding between you for a minute. That's life though. You zig when you should zag with your favorites and guess what? You miss each other completely. Oh well that's why you're friends in the end. Remember being busy doesn't mean you rush around frantically but it does mean you take kamikaze adventures without thinking of tomorrow's consquences and this includes making time to catch up with your friends. Zig-zagging may not always work for people. But you know what? Zig-zags make for great esses in architecture. And this beautiful house expresses the most amazingly unique yet simplistic and essential esses!

S-House by Yuusuke Karasawa Architects

The S-House is a relatively small house constructed in a residential area in Saitama. Two floors cross over two levels. Each level is quartered, where the two opposing floors are elevated. The eaves surrounding the middle section around the ceiling of the other two floors intertwine with the elevated floors. The overall space creates a complicated web characterized by open air.  The raised floors of the levels reach the diagonal wall, and adjoin to the floors above. The floors branch out andcontinue above, staggering to create a uniquely intricate elevation. The complexity of the elevation extends throughout the interior space as well. The floors entwine diagonally, opening to look out to the opposing space formed at the center of interconnected floor. Luxembourg House by Richard Meier

Barbie is a fan of modern clean lines that create a symbiotic space without unnecessary chaos. Similar to the lines in Dreamhouses, life offers you chances to draw, cross and blur the lines. Now you must realize crossing lines sometimes is great fun but it doesn't always guarantee for a nice time in life but it always works in architecture.

Lately this doll finds that some of her favorite Kens have been a bit lax in their judgement of what lines to let others cross into their life and it's affecting her life still. It's inappropriate for this doll to be bombarded by anyone's personal affairs... Including the untrue words being said to her about any Ken & having to tolerate fake/feigned friendships with dolls. It's especially difficult when one of  your favorite people can do nothing to stop others from crossing the line. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands to protect your privacy without interfering in others lives.

So where do you go when dolls continually cross the lines in life and your favorite people can do nothing to stop it?

A house with clean lines... built with privacy in mind.

luxembourg house by richard meier

Built with privacy and seclusion in mind the home is positioned on a sloped, wooded site in a rural area of luxembourg, as a private house stands as a glass prism featuring distinct spatial zones. Designed by architect Richard Meier the L-shaped residence offers both privacy and seclusion, as well as panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. opaque cladding envelops the dwelling on the south and east sides, protecting the property from the passing street and neighboring buildings, and anchoring the structure to the plot.

Would you protect your privacy in this clean designed house?

Palo Alto Residence by Maydan Architects

Barbie loves minimalism! It's chic and one of her favorite types of architecture. Although, this doll has her favorites (houses, dolls & kens) she prefers not to single any one out over the other... So lately she's been tossing nods to all her favorites. It gets confusing especially when you care for so many different styles... And people. :) No matter how she feels about any of them it's best to keep it simple without the drama. Minimalism is a great way to keep your Dreamhouse drama free!
