My Heart Will Always Cling Lovingly to You Ms M! Clingstone: The lovelyarchitecture of J. S. Lovering Wharton

Of course you love me and cling darlings! I love it! Barbie loves a trip to sea and great architecture. Some people love to cling to their loved ones and that they should!  Hold on and sustain your love. Love like architecture is meant to last. It's the best especially when an older structure is renewed into a sustainable design. If you love a great trip to the sea & green design here's a home you might enjoy as much as this doll!

A House by the sea: Clingstone by J. S. Lovering Wharton

A cedar-shingled house built in 1905 by J. S. Lovering Wharton and currently owned by retired Boston architect Henry Wood, stands on a rock in Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay only 20 feet above sea level.

When Henry Wood bought the 10,000 square foot home nearly 50 years ago. It had been unoccupied for 20 years and was in poor condition.

In its present condition Clingstone is "green," or sustainable, from the windmill on the roof to the composting toilets. The windmill provides electricity. Solar panels heat water for household use.

Would you love to live in this house in the sea?

Barbie would!
Enjoy!

The Urbane House by Hiren Patel Architects

Barbie loves urban chic & simplistic design when it's integrated with the environment around it. It's truly a love affair for her eyes and dreamy architectural design. Love affairs are funny things though. What one doll loves, her favorite ken or doll may hate. Why? Love affairs much like taste and style are about timing and knowing what you want. You have to let others decide what they want and when they want it. Especially with your favorite Dolls and Kens. Or your friendship or relationship may find itself disappearing rather hastily? You see, if you are dealing with someone who appreciates modern architecture then you can't change the paint on a craftsman bungalow and force them to love it. Doesn't work. They'll still love modern with a different color and not be interested in the craftsman. All you can hope is that what you love appeals to others. And not to worry,  someone will appreciate the same things you do!

The Urbane House by Hiren Patel Architects

The concept for this dreamhouse is relies upon the ideology of form follows function. The sharp lines, of the home express this while forming the character and translating the language. The home features an entrance porch which leads into a double height foyer, that is also connected to the family, living and formal drawing room in addition to bedrooms, dining and kitchen areas of the house. There is a verandah connecting the drawing room and family living areas. Further the construction blends nature with the concise form of contemporary architecture which softens the urban look of this home.(via/Archdaily)

Would you appreciate this urban chic dreamhouse?
Barbie does even if her favorite dolls and kens do not!
Enjoy!

Wilkinson Residence by Robert Harvey Oshatz

Barbie believes that everything is connected in nature and humanity. Some choose to look to their relationships and surroundings to further understand the symbiosis of connection. And that's a great place to start looking at the world. Barbie knows it takes a great deal to maintain any ecosystem and relationships are no different. Barbie is quite generous when it comes maintaining her ecosystem and that extends to her relationships; romantic and friendships as well...

Now beginning any relationship (romantic or friendship) is no different than planting a garden. But remember, it takes a lot of work to foster anything into something beautiful. Unfortunately many Dolls and Ken's don't get that effort and generosity starts and must continue. Flowers, Diamonds and Sweet words are lovely but flowers wilt and die, diamonds are just rocks and sweet words can be said to anyone. It's not cynicism dolls, it's just that Barbie can buy her own diamonds or collect rocks in the yard and well she has had a couple artist Kens give her painted flowers that will never die. Understand that sometimes you must give of yourself more and take care of others dearly to maintain a symbiotic relationship, romantic or friendship. You make sacrifices.

Like? Barbie recently gave away the last one of her favorite paintings with beautiful flowers. These flowers are an irreplaceable life debt to this doll for the joy they've given her. Their beauty has never faded, they are always in bloom and have never wilted no matter the season. She did discuss that piece... a few months ago here. Why give it away? She wanted to apologize to a dear friend and extend something further to bless this person's new home and life. Again she knows the apology was not needed but the TLC of caring for someone and their feelings mattered so much to her that she could think of no better gesture. And she knows that it was the right action. How? Well, the universe has a way of showing you that you've done the right thing... Recently another of Barbie's favorite artist Kens, through the unique happenstance of giving to someone else, has made her realize he has given her and so many others, men and women, flowers that they will carry with them forever so there is no need to be sad over the loss of paint. The universe always reminds you that somehow you are never without even if you walk around never realizing what you are blessed with. Just know that giving of yourself doesn't go unnoticed by the universe and your efforts to maintain symbiosis with your life & relationships is always creating blessings in your life. Stay grateful, love everyone and you'll come to see them.

It's best to maintain living the best way that connects and maintains the ecosystem around you. So, where to live in order to maintain healthy relationships with the ecosystem around you? In nature of course!

Wilkinson Residence by Robert Harvey Oshatz

This artistic piece of architecture in the woods of Portland, Oregon translates a client's love of music into a modern home. The client wanted a home that embodied the natural energy of the ecosystem around it but capture the flow and mechanics of music as well. A symbiosis of design that brings contemporary together with nature. Allowing the main living space to rest in the canopy of the trees while the earth below remains fresh. The interior of the house connects to its exterior through the use of natural wood and curved beaming that passes through a glass wall wrapping around the living room space. ~ http://www.oshatz.com/

Would you try to maintain your ecosystem by living in this modern home?

Barbie would and she thinks you might too!
Enjoy!

Screen House by Alain Carle Architecte

Barbie knows that you can't always see everything in a situation from all angles. Things in life are much like a Japanese screen you have to let what's hidden from your eye reveal itself instead of allowing what your mind tells you to be real... And sometimes things are not meant to be revealed because people prefer their privacy or there's nothing to share. Barbie defers to leaving such decisions about revealing or deciding what works to her favorite Ken. It's always best that a man chooses what they want in relationships, dreamhouses and in life. Most importantly whether a man wants to pursue any of those things is his choice. Not Barbie's. She trusts Ken to do his thing cause he knows what works for him. If you push any person toward something it means you don't trust them to know what's best for them. Barbie knows what she wants and keeps focused on living. When it comes to the other stuff well it is quite serendipitous when love, health and career things happen to work out in the progress of pursuing goals & living. Barbie loves it. If it doesn't work... Something else will. Now whether to share those things with others? Share with those you trust... And trust yourself. How about a dreamhouse that relies on the concept of a screen?

Screen House by Alain Carleton Architecte

“The constraint of this house is being located on a lakeshore pushed the architects to explore different possibilities geared toward considering perceptual alternatives. The site narrow in depth presented several setback constraints. And the resulting shape of the structure is much like a screen similar to a  “hinge” space, resulting from bending the space: it was agreed to make this the main access to the building. This place forms the residence’s only major breach, visible from the road circling the lake.” ~ Arch Daily

Would you enjoy a house shaped like a screen to provide privacy while maintaining the best decor and view?

Barbie would!

Enjoy!

Oxlade House by James Russell Architects

Barbie enjoys a great dream house flooded with balance and chic features... However she doesn't like being flooded with the past problems of others. Often a dream house has a few unique quirks including location problems. But she leaves the past and difficult kind of location sorting out to her favorite Ken to deal with. It's clearly a man's place to deal with the dramatics of his past before it floods his present and drowns Barbie. No doll wants to be flooded by dramatic issues. A man handles the drama of living instead of avoiding it or allowing it to hurt a person undeserving of its wrath. Here's a lovely house equipped to handle the dramatics of flooding with a flair for interesting to say the least!

Oxlade Drive House By James Russell Architects

The Oxlade Drive House is situated in a low lying area at the southern tip of New Farm peninsula in Brisbane. The house and courtyards are elevated slightly above natural ground to deal with flooding of the Brisbane River, flooding which occurred during its construction in 2010. The house is configured as a series of two story pavilions that run down the depth of the block, each separated by a courtyard containing landscape, gathering spaces and a pool.” ~Archdaily

Would you enjoy a house that plans for and deals with and avoids the dramatics of a flood?

Barbie hopes so!

La Corbusier's Villa Savoye

Some of Barbie's most favorite Ken's are very modern fellows... Hipster? Hush your mouth! Never! These guys appreciate the finer things including great furniture & architecture. As a matter of fact, one of her oldest favorite Ken's love himself La Corbusier and his modern architecture. Barbie can't blame him at all. He's one of her favorites as well.

La Corbusier's Villa Savoye

Situated in Poissy, a small commune outside of Paris, is one of the most significant contributions to modern architecture in the 20th century, Villa Savoye by Le Corbusier.  Completed in 1929, Villa Savoye is a modern take on a French country house that celebrates and reacts to the new machine age.  The house single handedly transformed Le Corbusier’s career as well as the principles of the ; becoming one of the most important architectural precedents in the history.  Villa Savoye’s detachment from its physical context lends its design to be contextually integrated into the mechanistic/industrial context of the early 20thcentury, conceptually defining the house as a mechanized entity.” - Arch Daily

Would you love this modern gem enough to live in it and brag about it?

Barbie most definitely would!

Enjoy!
