Rest House by Tim Spicer Architects and Col Bandy Architects

Sometimes it's ok to give it rest. Barbie reminds her favorite dolls and Ken that it is indeed a good idea to take it easy now and again. Where better to relax than in a dreamhouse made for rest?

The Rest House is a collaboration that came out of a long-standing friendship between the clients and architects. The clients passion for sailing and their love of the Australian coastline inspired this coastal house. The butterfly roof imitates the shape of a boat’s hull and the angled walls protect the garden from southern winds off Bass Strait. The building and landscape design have been orchestrated to blend in seamlessly while utilizing the land slope and provide gorgeous views of the valley and ocean.

Would you take a rest in this home?
Barbie would!
Enjoy!
