The Peres Peace House was a concept originated by Palestinian leader Jassir Arafat & Israeli President Shimonoseki Peres. The home designed by Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas, was intended to promote Peace among the conflicted factions which continue to manifest violence today. Despite the confliction the house remains a neutral place where exchanges of ideas can take place.
The House features pale green concrete slabs that mimic the facade of sedimentary rock. It serves as a reminder than change is simple and constant. The only view from the home is that of the sea which Massimilano Fuksas describes as a ‘symbol of the state of emergency.”
