Detours are not shortcuts and should never be confused or mistaken. The trouble with detours is, you never know where you are going and when you will find yourself back on the main road. This comes hours after finding myself in a detour smack in the middle of my shortcut. It held some small humor and really bad timing, but I waited patiently as I have become accustomed to. Again begins a new phase in life all thanks to a closed road and a detour a while back. This transition has been like most things in life, a little messy and unpredictable but still remains absolutely necessary. Detours are tedious yet necessary.
