Inspiration.

Inspiration...

Webster’s Dictionary defines Inspiration as “a divine influence or act upon a person…” through such “action or power the moving of the intellect or emotions”

Inspiration. So many people view this artistic gift differently. About a week ago, I had someone ask me where my inspiration comes from. You know, my ideas. It’s really very personal. I look to my surroundings and people in my life sometimes. Ok. I give. It’s EVERYTHING! Look around. Open your mind. Often its just there in front of you without fail. Like an electric spark. Sometimes it's people, places, friends, artists, music, movies...etc. No pin-pointing it. There's really not an exact science to it at all. It isn’t as if I know ahead of time what will come next. I usually don’t. Which not knowing is the fun part! Sometimes it’s just there, so I jot it down and come back for it when the time is right. As always, I do keep a notebook of ideas, which I highly recommend for anyone creative. Frustrating as it is, some of those never come to life. But there are always those that do. It was also asked of me, by a close friend, if I could impart some of my darkness, in a collaborative fashion I’m assuming. I’ve always had the desire to collaborate on something with another artist, so I may take that chance. We’ll see. But that is me getting ahead of myself. I did give him some direction where to locate his own brand of inspiration. I’m actually very curious to see what he managed to come up with.
