Get up.

Get up.

Get up. Lights on. Get ready to go. We are going out to dinner! No? Tell me why then. Wait, let me guess. I bet you’re thinking that you can’t face this. That’s not true. You’re in bed because you are staring straight at it, only you can’t handle it. So here you are in the depths of blankets, wrapped tightly in the sheets hiding out. And I’m here as your friend to say… ENOUGH. The only thing preventing you from moving forward is you. Do not let yourself down. If that’s not enough, do it for me, your friend. I need you to get past this. Come on then. UP. There’s life outside this room. Alright, lay there but listen. And I’m not closing the curtains or turning out the lights. Of course I know its dark out. That doesn’t change the fact that there’s still life out there. Yes, I’m going to say that you are missing it. Does repeating this help any? He left you and that isn’t going to change by laying there. Are you going to let him win? People break up and fall apart all the time. You can’t base your future on this one thing changing. Maybe it’s supposed to happen this way. Have you thought of that? No, I wasn’t going to tell you about the other fish in the sea. You don’t need to worry about the other fish right now. You need to worry about you. Now, even if we don’t go anywhere tonight, you need to eat something. Don’t shake your head. Hunger strikes serve a cause and an effect while starving for nothing serves no purpose and has little effect. That’s good. You’re up. Now just take a few bites. By the way, thank you for getting up.

300. Get up. Friends go through things while we have to watch and wait sometimes. It’s hard just to watch. You wait. And wait. Until there’s a point where you have to give more than a nudge; like a shove or a drag, because they aren’t doing it for themselves despite the fact that they can. Live your life as a force. A little luck and encouragement can help, but it’s not enough unless you propel yourself forward. The only thing that prevents any of us from producing visionary work is ourselves. Tomorrow is an excuse. Don’t make it. And don’t let anyone make you believe you can not do something. Get up. Oddly enough, up. Because I’m an odd bird… it’s not insomnia, it’s a new cycle. Because it’s interesting… going with it. Anyhow, have a good night, day, Wednesday. Enjoy. m.
