The Time and Space House by Kohki Hiranuma Architect & Associates

Time and space are not ideas... they are social constructs that people impose their illusions of past, present and future situations and events upon. Barbie knows that sometimes illusions are the things people hold on to tightest so why not enjoy a little time and space in a dreamhouse...

The Time and Space House by Kohki Hiranuma Architect & Associates

The time & space house’ is a two-level dwelling in osaka, japan. Approximately 2 meters below the street level, the home ensures privacy while remaining flexible and timeless. High ceilings create a sense of larger than life space. Gaining most of its daylight illumination from a courtyard space & catwalk, the home, constructed from reinforced concrete, remains a flexible and transparent space.

Would you lose track of time and space in this dreamhouse?

Barbie would.

The Emoji House

Often Barbie thinks people make more of nothing than is there, rather than just enjoy things as they are. Now a dreamhouse is beautiful or fun in the eye of the homeowner... here’s a home for those that dare to mix fun with the dream of owning a home.

The Emoji House

Dreamed up by a graphic/street artist, Z the Art, at the request of the homeowner to reinvent the drab colored home into a “happy house,”  this one of a kind vacation home lends its charming sense of humor to all who inhabit it.

Would you find this home silly?

Barbie would!

The TWA Hotel inside of the JFK Airport terminal by Eero Saarinen

Barbie lives for all thing repurposed especially when it’s one of her favorite architects. Here’s a dream hotel that’s given a new life to renowned piece of mud-century modern architecture, the JFK Airport terminal by Eero Saarinen.

The TWA Hotel inside of the JFK Airport terminal by Eero Saarinen

The TWA Hotel located in the mid-century modern structure that was originally completed by Eero Saarinen for TWA at JFK. Unable to support modern aircraft the terminal was shut down in 2001. The renovation has overhauled the original building and is historically the first hotel to be located in an airport terminal on site at an airport.

The guests rooms are housed in two new curved buildings placed behind the original Saarinen's structure. The accommodations feature seven panes and have a very thick curtain-wall construction, to block out runway noise but allow views of the tarmac.

The decor of rooms and living spaces have been designed to capture the history of the space, with elements giving homage to the origins 1960s design.

Amenities include a rooftop pool & observation bar among their many restaurants, bars and lounges.
