The Waterhouse

Barbie loves that homes come in all varieties. There's so many different ways to live that even a dreamhouse could be inside of a hotel. Much like art there are a million ways to create a home and sometimes even the ones that look the same are very much different. So Kens and Dolls does your house look like someone else's?

The Waterhouse

Designed by Chinese architects NHDRO this disused Japanese army headquarters in Shanghai  has become a hotel. While it maintains the building's stripped concrete and brick walls the design also adds a new Corten steel extension on the roof. The Waterhouse is comprised of four story's nineteen rentable rooms and a beautiful view of Huangpu River.

The Desert House

Barbie loves the hot weather! She enjoys it so very much that the very thought of living in her own desert oasis sounds absolutely delicious. And when things warm up she can find herself melting into the comfort of her dream home away from home!

The Desert House

A Prefab Home nestled deep in the Desert Hot Springs of CA is the beautiful remedy for getting away from it all. If you're not a fan of the heat, this L shaped home includes the sophisticated charms and comforts while it's architectural style helps to keep you cool. The interior is made up of 10 modules that comprise the two bedroom two bathroom resting areas in addition to kitchen, dining and living areas. Outdoor areas include shelter from the heat of the sun and pool to make any desert oasis complete. Go for a dip anyone? Beauty comes and no price to the environment since this Desert Home generates 100 percent of it's energy from solar paneling.

The Wolfson Trailer House

Barbie's dream house is a trailer? Hardly! Now and again Barbie's adventures do require her to take mobile transportation in the form of a very chic recreational vehicle but that never requires calling it home. Why? Well, Every fabulous person needs to be mobile but having your own built in trailer happens to be tremendously more chic than calling one home.

The Wolfson Trailer House

The Wolfson house that Marcel Breuer built is comprised of three distinct areas: house, trailer and studio. Each area is effective in both in style & function.

Barbie could find herself quite at home in the cozy trailer built into the house.

The Willy Wonka House

Oh my! Is Barbie's Dream House made of candy? Not quite but it is a delicious vision for the eyes.

The Willy Wonka House

This Tribeca, NY home isn't erected from candy or pastries that inhabitants and guests may feast upon. But it has borrowed a bit of inspiration from the idea of Wonka’s technicolor factory.

In this multilevel home every room has its own design scheme ranging from ordinary with a vivid splash of color to extraordinary that leads the imagination sprinting with art & props in addition to colorful backdrops.

Some indoor fun features include: A two-story climbing wall, a ping pong chandelier and a pair of sheep sculptures grazing on green grass carpet among other surprises.

The Church House

Thank Goodness My Barbie Dream House prayers have been answered: my dream house is a church!

Feeling as though your soul needs a spiritual fix? Get closer to God in the comfort of your home.

Renovated and upgraded churches are quite chic and a very interesting design aesthetic to work in. Vaulted ceilings and hardwood floor provide an atmosphere reminiscent of urban warehouse loft spaces.

Looking for a gothic look with a modern flair then definitely throw your hands in the air and shout Hallelujah because perhaps a Church House is the spiritual solution for you.

Marc Riera's Home on the Rails

Your Barbie Dream House is on a Train? Choo Choo!

Trains once held a great romantic mystique when it came down to traveling. Nowadays with the modern preoccupation of speed & distance we find ourselves flying more than catching a ride along the rails. If you're missing a bit of mystique of days past... Well here is the answer for you!

Life in a dream... train? A one of a kind dream house set up in a renovated 1949 rail car designed by Marc Riera. Barbie herself couldn't complain with all the necessary comforts combined with fabulous decor fit neatly in a compact space.

Would you enjoy a dream house that rivals only the orient express?
